University of Iowa Adds an Assistant Ombuds

Last October, Corey P. Pass joined the Ombuds Office at Iowa City as the Assistant Ombudsperson. In this new role, he reports to University Ombudsperson, Chanelle Reese, and works with faculty, staff, and students, including all of UI Healthcare. He also joins Meenakshi Gigi Durham, who has been the half-time Faculty Ombuds since July 2021.

Pass comes to the Ombuds role after a 35 year career in law enforcement. He started at the University of Northern Colorado and later moved to the Estes Park Police Department, where he reached the rank of police captain before his retirement. Pass graduated from the Metropolitan State University of Denver and earned a MS from Colorado State University Global. He also completed the School of Police Staff and Command at Northwestern University. (LinkedIn.)
