UNC Charlotte Opens Faculty Ombuds Office

The University of North Carolina at Charlotte has appointed Bruce Auerbach as its first Ombuds for faculty and administrators.  Auerbach is a Professor of Theatre with a specialty in design for the stage. Since March 2009 he has been serving as the University Mediation Coordinator.

Auerbach has been a member of IOA since 2009 and has passed the Certified Organizational Ombudsman Practitioner exam. Prior to UNC Charlotte, Auerbach was a member of the faculty of the University of Notre Dame where he served as Director of Theatre and Associate Chair of the Department of Film, Television, and Theatre. He graduated from Auburn University at Montgomery and earned an MFA in Stage Design from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.  UNCC previously had only a Graduate Student Ombuds--a role that is currently filled by Assistant Dean Katherine Hall-Hertel.  (UNCC Faculty Ombuds.)
