MSU, home of the first American university Ombuds program, has announced that it will appoint a student-athlete Ombuds. Last week, Michigan State Athletics Director Mark Hollis has announced the appointment of Alan Haller as human resource officer for the MSU Athletics Department and as the student-athlete Ombudsman.
Haller, a former Spartan defensive back and NFL veteran, previously served with the MSU Police Department for 13 years. No other details about the Ombuds position have been announced. (MLive.)
