Lucie Allaire has been appointed to the newly created position of University Ombudsperson for uOttawa. University President Allan Rock said, “We’re very proud that the University has created the position of ombudsperson, a joint effort with the Student Federation and the Graduate Students’ Association.”
Allaire, an alumnus of uOttawa, has been teaching mediation and negotiation at Saint Paul University and offering ADR services as the principal of L.A. Management Consulting. She has worked at the Canada Public Service Agency as senior advisor to the Vice-President, Informal Conflict Management System, at Industry Canada as Director-General of the Human Resources Branch, and at the Department of National Defence as Director-General of the Conflict Management Program. Her appointment takes effect September 1, 2010. (uOttawa News.)
