University of California Santa Barbara Onboards Two New Ombuds

David Rasch, who recently retired after 14 years as the University Ombuds at Stanford, has joined the staff at UCSB on an interim basis as an Associate Ombuds. In addition, Megan DeBrito has been hired as an Assistant Ombuds. (Shauna Shea, who joined the office in February 2017, has departed.)

Rasch graduated from Colgate University and earned a PhD in Counseling Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies. Prior to his work as Ombuds, he was Director of Stanford’s Faculty/Staff Counseling Center. Rasch serves on the Board of Directors for CO-OP and he also consults and teaches on topics related to writing productivity. 

DeBrito graduated from Mills College and earned a Master’s in Conflict Resolution at Antioch University Midwest. Previously, she worked as a Community and Court Mediator, Facilitator, Case Manager and Long Term Care Ombudsman. (UCSB Ombuds.)
