The metropolitan public research university in Miami has opened a search for its next Student Ombudsman. (Sofia Trelles has been serving in the position on an interim basis since December 2018.) The full-time position directs an office that serves a student body of 57,000.

Applicants must have a master's degree and four years of experience, including with student services and/or dispute resolution. The position pays $80,000 - $90,000 and applications are due June 1, 2019. (FIU Careers, via Indeed.)

Organizational Ombuds serve as a confidential, independent, neutral and informal dispute resolution resource for a specific entity. They are accessible to a defined population and can advocate for fairness.
