Eligibility Criteria & Scholarship Requirements for the International Scholarship:
- Practice as an organizational ombudsman in a country outside of the United States, where the profession is not well developed (other types of ombudsman professionals or other professionals are not eligible);
- Provide evidence of financial need;
- Participation of the recipient as a presenter or panel member during the Annual Conference is desirable; and
- Foundations Training (if recipient of this scholarship has not previously taken the IOA Foundations of Organizational Ombudsman Practice course, they may also apply to have the fee waived).
- IOA membership is not required. Scholarship applicants and recipients are encouraged to consider joining IOA.
- IOA membership;
- Less than one year of Organizational Ombuds practice at the time of application;
- No additional financial support from employer or other organization to attend the conference; and
- Agreement to two hours of volunteer time during the conference and a brief summary about the experience for posting on the IOA blog.
