Brigham and Women's Hospital Names Director of New Ombuds Program

Donald Proby has been selected as the Director of BWH's new Office of Mediation, Coaching and Ombuds Services. Boston's Brigham and Women's Hospital is a teaching hospital for Harvard Medical School and part of the integrated health care system Partners HealthCare, the largest private employer in Massachusetts. Proby will head an office that will (according to the job posting earlier this year) "provide employee support, facilitate workable solutions solutions to conflict and to support individuals building skills to address and transform conflict." He was appointed in July.

Proby brings nearly four decades of experience as a mediator, lecturer, and community leader. Most recently, he was a program faculty member for Coro of Northern California and the lead trainer for a Mediation Certification Program offered by the Community Boards in San Francisco. Proby has been a fauclty member at Saint Mary's College and San Francisco State University. He graduated from Eckerd College and is completing an EdD at St. Mary's College. (LinkedIn.)
