The public land grant research university in Morgantown will hire its first Graduate Student Ombudsperson. The part-time (approximately 10 hours per week or 25% FTE) position will report to the Provost and provide assistance to about 5,900 graduate student at WVU. The new Ombuds will supplement the work of the Faculty Ombuds Christine Schimmel and also practice to IOA standards.
The required qualifications are entirely knowledge, skills, and abilities, rather than educational or experiential. Applicants must have: communication and problem-solving skills; decision-making/strategic thinking skills; organizational knowledge and networking skills; sensitivity to diversity issues; and integrity.
