A new website shows that the all federal circuit courts now have a Director of Workplace Relations. These new positions, "offer a point of contact external to an employee’s local court, providing confidential advice and information regarding options for addressing and resolving workplace conduct concerns. The directors of workplace relations can also facilitate assisted resolutions and help employees informally address workplace conduct concerns." A law review article in 2021 explained that the program is "Modeled in part after an organizational ombudsman."Many of the directors have been in place since for several years, but the latest was hired in December 2024. One covers two circuits. All but one have law degrees. The current directors are:
- First Circuit — Noelle Barrist Stern
- Second Circuit — Alana Chill
- Third Circuit — Julie Todd
- Fourth Circuit — Leila Jabbar
- Fifth Circuit — Rebecca Coman
- Sixth Circuit — Lauren Mai
- Seventh Circuit — Adam Graham
- Eighth Circuit — Jill Langley
- Ninth Circuit — Mary Gaber Thompson
- Tenth Circuit — Jill Langley
- Eleventh Circuit — Kathleen Adams
- Federal Circuit — Hayley Weimer
- D.C. Circuit — Kelly Roseberry

These may be the only safe ombuds jobs in the federal government.
