IOA Opens Election for 2025 Board of Directors

Members of the International Ombuds Association have begun voting for the next slate of IOA's Board of Directors. Seven candidates are running for five open seats with four current directors running for a second term and three new candidates on the ballot. All elected candidates will begin their service following the IOA Annual Meeting on 16 April 2025.

The Ombuds Blog does not endorse candidates; information is provided only for reference. Candidate statements and biographies are available to members on the IOA website. Here are the nominees, along links to any prior posts:

• Paul Caffera, University Ombuds, University of Mississippi

• Amanda Dean [incumbent], Ombudsperson for Staff and Faculty, Austin Community College

• Wayne Marriott [incumbent and current Board Treasurer], Organisational Ombuds, Auckland University of Technology

• Mark Patterson [incumbent], Ombuds, Cal Poly Pomona

• Jennifer Schneider, Organizational Ombuds, University of South Florida

• David Schwartz, Ombuds, University of Nevada, Las Vegas

• Lily Xu [incumbent and current Board Secretary], Corporate Ombuds, RTX

Election results are expected in March following the election. New officers will be elected in April following the Annual Meeting.
