According to the report, the Ombuds handled 65 matters during 2025 involving 20 visitors from academia, government, and the private sector. Most concerns related to interpersonal treatment, professional interactions, and career issues. The report also identified systemic concerns involving mentoring, conference conduct, power dynamics, and confusion about reporting options.
The publication places the Ombuds report alongside formal reports from AEA committees, journal editors, and association officers in the association’s official annual proceedings. (AEA Ombuds Summary of Activities.)
