The flagship university of the Seventh-day Adventist church located in Berrien Springs, Michigan has appointed two Ombudsperson: Elynda Bedney and David Sedlacek. Together, they will serve about 6,000 faculty, staff, and students. According to a new website, "The office was established as part of the University’s Christian commitment to foster a courteous and considerate climate conducive to productivity and wellbeing for the University community."
Both of the new Ombuds have a long history with the University.
Bedney has worked at Andrews University since 1987 and is currently the Director of Student Financial Services. She graduated from Oakwood College and earned her Masters of Science in Administration Andrews in 1998. Sedlacek joined the Andrews University Social Work faculty in 2009. He graduated from Cleveland State University, and earned a MS in Social Administration at Case Western Reserve University and a PhD at Case Western Reserve University.
