The multilateral organization that provides development financing for Latin America and the Caribbean from its headquarters in Washington, DC has opened a search for its next Ombudsperson. The position is appointed by and reports directly to the IDB President for a five-year term period (renewable for a second, five-year appointment).
Applicants must have: a master's degree or equivalent degree in law, human resources, or other social sciences or relevant discipline; at least ten years of professional relevant work, with at least seven years of experience with employment issues, mediation, and/or labor relations preferred; and outstanding interpersonal and communications skills with bilingual command of Spanish and English, with knowledge of Portuguese and/or French preferred. The search will fill a position held by Doris Campos-Infantino for the past ten years.
