Midwest Political Science Association Appoints Ombuds for Annual Meeting

When the nonpartisan association of political science scholars held its annual conference earlier this month, attendees could consult with the first Meeting Ombuds: Carol Mershon. "The Ombuds plays no role in MPSA’s formal complaint procedure but can offer confidential guidance about what constitutes discrimination or harassment [and] can explain the options for reporting harassment to the MPSA [or] whether other avenues."

Mershon is a Professor of Politics at the University of Virginia and has served as an Ombuds for the American Educational Research Association, American Political Science Association, and Southern Political Science Association. (MPSA Ombuds.)
