Florida Gulf Coast University Selects Next Ombuds

Daniel Hoover has been appointed the University Ombuds for FGCU in Fort Myers, Florida. He will resume a program that has been dormant since the retirement of the prior Ombuds, Monique McKay, last year and the departure of Assistant Ombuds, Charlotte Bingham, who moved to Ivy Tech in Indiana. As the FGCU University Ombuds, Hoover will serve as a resource for all campus stakeholders, a population of nearly 20,000.

Hoover has been FGCU's Director of Student Care Services for the past five years. He has held a variety of student affairs positions over his 22 year career, including work at Marist College, the College of William & Mary, Elmhurst College, and the University of Kansas. He graduated from Coe College, and earned a MS at the University of Kansas and EdD at William & Mary. (FGCU Ombuds; LinkedIn.)
