IOA Announces 2023 Board of Directors Election Result

The International Ombuds Association has announced the results of its latest Board of Directors election. Ten nominees were on the ballot, the largest group in several years. Five newly elected directors will take office at the Annual Meeting on April 11, 2023, for a three-year term. IOA Directors will convene shortly thereafter to elect new officers.

Here are new IOA board members:

• Hector Escalante (incumbent), Ombuds Director, University of California, Merced;
  
  
• Amarah Khan, CO-OP, Director Office of the Employee Ombuds, City of Seattle;
  
  
• Sarah Klaper (incumbent), University Ombudsperson, Northwestern University;
  
  
• Youssoupha Niang, PT Ombuds and Mediator, UNHCR; and
  
  
• Bina Patel, Senior Organizational Ombuds, United States Patent & Trademark Office.
