The Office of the Ombudsman at the State Department is hiring "a few" Associate Ombuds in Washington, DC. The positions (technically "HR Specialist/Employee Relations") will report to the State Department Ombuds, Jeanne Juliao, and provide Ombuds services to Department employees with workplace conflicts. Occasional travel is required and there is an opportunity for telework.

The positions are open only to "Status Candidates, Noncompetitive, Former Federal Employees with Reinstatement Eligibility, Land & base management, VEOA, Individuals with Disabilities, Military Spouses, Peace Corps, AmeriCorps, Vista, Eligible Family Member, Special authorities, ICTAP, and CTAP" applicants. In addition, the incumbents must be able to obtain a "Secret" security clearance. The GS-12/13 positions will pay $99,200 to $153,354 per year and applications are due by May 24, 2024. (USA Jobs.)
