Algonquin College Adds an Ombuds

Marsha Walters was hires as an Ombuds Officer for the public college of applied arts and technology in Ottawa in October 2023. In the jointly-funded position, she will provide services to over 21,000 students at three campuses across Ontario. Walters reports to the Ombudsman, George Cole, and the Assistant Ombudsman, Barbara Carswell.

Walters comes to the position from KPMG Canada, where she has been a Risk Administrator for the past two years. Prior to that, she was an instructor at Carleton University and Montego Bay Community College. She also practiced law in Jamaica. Walters earned her Bachelor's and law degree from the University of West Indies, and completed a Master's at Carleton University. (LinkedIn.)
