San Francisco State to Hire Next Ombuds
San Francisco State University has opened an internal search for its next Director of Strategic Initiatives and University Ombudsman. The search will fill a position held most recently by Theodore Albiniak, who is Ombudsperson for UC Law San Francisco. The full-time position has "three interrelated roles: serving as the University Ombuds, leading strategic initiatives, and managing community relations efforts." The position reports jointly to the Offices of the President and University Advancement.
Applicants must have an advanced degree in conflict resolution, law, higher education, organizational leadership, or a related field; and at least three years of professional experience in university administration, organizational development, or conflict resolution. The position is expecte to pay $122,016 to $132,000 and applications are due by May 2, 2025. (SFSU Posting.), (SFSU Ombuds.)
