University of Oregon Exploring Ombuds Program

Last summer, the research university in Eugene appointed an ad hoc committee to look at respectful workplace policies and practices. According to a report recently presented to the UO Faculty Senate, the committee is focusing on the creation of Ombuds Office for the campus.

The committee presented materials and information from IOA and the Dean of Student’s Office which has been researching Ombuds Offices in higher education, nationwide. The committee plans to continue its work and report again to the UO Senate again before the end of the academic year. (UO Respectful Workplace Report.)
