English and Arabic proficiency is required, and professional French will be advantageous. No salary indicated. Applications will be considered until August 31, 2019. (ICRC Careers.)

  2. Thanks for posting this Tom. It is the same position as before. We are trying to thread a very tight needle here. Also ICRC is not for everyone. That said this is a great opportunity for the right person to join a tight cohesive Ombuds Network team. Once hired the individual would be one of five full-time professional Ombuds, who collaborate with more than 60 10% Ombuds Relays serving a population of 19,000 ICRC colleagues. Any introductions to relevant people would be very much appreciated. Current most likely delegation for base of operation for this position is Beirut. Amman is an option depending on visa status. Other locations throughout the region also possible. Included in the travel is Syria, Yemen, Iran, and outer Iraq. Must be able to travel to these locations - so those on US, UK and a few other passports are not possible.

Looking for someone great. High expectations and superior support are something I can offer.

    All the best-
    John W. Zinsser
