Job Posting: Ohlone College

The community college in Fremont, California has opened a search for a Director of Extended Opportunity Programs and Services & Ombudsperson. The position reports to the dean of student services and is responsible for the development and oversight of educational and support services to qualified low-income and educationally disadvantaged students. In addition, the position also serves as the campus Ombuds for 19,000 students. Debbie Trigg established the position in 2012 and left in 2018.
Nancy Navarro currently holds the position on an interim basis.

Applicants must have a Master’s degree in counseling, social work, career development or related field and five years increasingly responsible experience in student services, counseling, behavioral sciences or student affairs. The position pays $109,739 - $140,060 per year and applications are due August 28, 2020. (Ohlone Employment.)

  1. Nice pay-- too bad the ombuds part of the job appears to be a complete afterthought. There are no skills or knowledge requirements in the description that relate to anything ombudsy.
