University of Pennsylvania Names 2020-2022 Ombuds

Jennifer A. Pinto-Martin, a Professor of Epidemiology and Director of the Master of Public Health Program, was appointed the University Ombuds, beginning on July 1, 2020 for a two-year term. She succeeds Lynn Hollen Lees and joins Associate Ombuds Marcia Martínez-Helfman in providing Ombuds services to over 40,000 faculty, staff, and students.


Pinto-Martin has been a faculty member in the UPenn Schools of Nursing and Medicineat since 1991. She has served as Department Chair and Chair of the University Faculty Senate. Her research focuses on the epidemiology of autism spectrum disorder. She graduated from Stanford and earned an MS and PhD from the University of California, Berkeley. (UPenn Almanac.)
