The WHO is hiring its next Regional Ombudsman for the Pan American Health Organization. The search will fill a position held by Bernardin Ndashimye since January 2020. Reporting to the Deputy Director, the PAHO Ombuds provides services to employees in 27 country office following IOA standards. The full-time position is based in Washington, DC, for a two-year, renewable contract.

Applicants must have a Master's a degree in a social science, human resources, psychology, or a related discipline; at least thirteen years of combined national and international professional work experience in the area of conflict management and resolution in the workplace, alternative dispute resolution, staff relations, or counseling; and very good knowledge of English or Spanish with working knowledge of the other language. Formal certified training in conflict resolution, arbitration, mediation and/or counseling, and knowledge of French and/or Portuguese are preferred. The position pays a base salary of $92,731 plus a post adjustment of 63.5% (about $151,615 per year). Applications are due June 14, 2023. (WHO Careers.)
