Allen College Names First Ombuds

The private healthcare university in Waterloo, Iowa, has created an Ombuds program for its 700 students. Kara Howard will serve nursing students and Abigail Nieman will serve all other health sciences students. Both have other roles at the college and report to the the College President for their Ombuds work. 

Howard is the Director of the Radiography and Medical Imaging Program & Assistant Professor. She earned an AS at Allen College and then a BS from Florida Hospital College of Health Science and MS from the University of Northern Iowa. Nieman is an Associate Professor of Nursing. She earned an ADN at Hawkeye Community College and then a BSN from Kaplan University, MSN from Walden University and DNP from Allen College.
