Elizabeth (Betsy) Shoenfelt and Margaret (Peggy) Stockdale have been reappointed as the Ombudspersons for the professional association also known as Division 14 of the American Psychological Association. Originally, Shoenfelt was set to serve through 2025, and Stockdale until the end of 2024. Stockdale, however, recently accepted a second term and will now serve through 2027. The pair are volunteers who have been trained to provide services to SIOP members and conference attendees. (SIOP Items of Interest.)
Shoenfelt is a University Distinguished Professor Emerita at Western Kentucky University. She is also the Immediate Past President of the Association for Applied Sports Psychology. She has worked professionally with a range of amateur athletes including NCAA Conference Champion, Final Four, and National Championship teams, and an individual Olympic gold medalist. She earned her DIO at Louisiana State University. (AASP Profile.)
Stockdale is Professor of Psychology and Chair of the Department of Psychology at Indiana Univesity-Indianapolis. She has published widely, including five books, on sexual harassment, sex discrimination, and public health initiatives. Stockdale has also served as an expert witness in civil cases.
