The public university in Burnaby, Vancouver is recruiting its next Student Ombudsperson. The search will fill a full-time, permanent position previously held by Laura Reid for eight years. The SFU Ombuds reports administratively to the University Secretary via an advisory committee and practices consistent with ACCUO and FCO standards.

Applicants must have a Master’s degree in counseling, JD, LLB, or a related discipline, and at least eight years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Applicants must also have knowledge of administrative fairness principles and relevant British Columbia legislation. The salary range is $116,061 to $138,495 annually and applications are due by January 23, 2026. (SFU Posting.)
