Central State University Names next Ombuds

Rayshawn L. Eastman has been selected to head the Office of Student Experience and Resolution at Central State University. He succeeds the inaugural Ombuds, Marc DeWitt, who held the position until his passing earlier this year. The office describes its work in terms consistent with the Organizational Ombuds model, including providing students with a neutral, confidential, and independent resource for addressing concerns and navigating university processes.

Eastman brings nearly two decades of experience in higher education and student affairs to the role, including serving as Associate Vice President of Student Affairs at Wilmington College, Assistant Dean of Students at Marshall University, and Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer and Title IX Coordinator at Mount St. Joseph University. Eastman graduated from Mount St. Joseph University, and earned a Master's and PhD in Educational Leadership at Miami University, and an MBA from Pittsburg State University.
