Consumer Financial Protection Bureau Appoints Ombuds

Wendy Kamenshine has been appointed as the first Ombudsman for the federal agency that holds primary responsibility for regulating consumer protection in the U.S. Kamenshine has been serving as the Acting Ombudsman since the office opened in late 2011.


The CFPB Ombudsman provides independent, impartial, and confidential assistance for depository or non-depository entities with issues arising from the CFPB’s regulatory activities. Kamenshine previously was with the Citizenship and Immigration Services Ombudsman Office.  She also is the Chair of the Coalition of Federal Ombuds. (CFPB Ombuds.)
