North Georgia College & State University Opens Ombud Program With Two Appointments

The four-year public university in Dahlonega, GA has named its first two Ombuds. Mary Newburn will serve as the Ombuds for Students and the Faculty and Staff Ombuds is Elizabeth Combier. A website for the new Ombuds Office is already online and links to the IOA standards and code of ethics.

Newburn previously served as Administrative Assistant to the Vice President in the Office of Student Affairs. She earned both an BA and MPA from the university.

Combier is Professor of Romance Languages and also President of the Foreign Language Association of Georgia. She has extensive experience in all areas of live theatre and regularly directs plays in Spanish or French. Combier earned a BA from Augusta College and completed her Master's from the University of South Carolina. (NGCSU Saint; Faculty Bio; Ombuds Office.)
