San Jose State University Ombuds Shares 2023 Annual Report

Feyon Lau, the Student Ombudsperson for the California State University Silicon Valley, reports that she handled 250 cases in 2022-23, down slightly from 255 in the prior year. Lau said that grades and classroom issues were the predominant reasons that students sought her assistance.

Lau has served as the SJSU Ombuds since 2022. As the full-time Ombuds, she serves a student body of nearly 33,000. She came to the position after working as a Service Coordinator (Case Manager) for the San Andreas Regional Center, a community service organization for developmentaly disabled people.
