University of Cincinnati Selects an Associate Ombuds

Paula Kerezsi has been hired as an Associate Ombuds at UC. Reporting to University Ombuds, Jivanto P. van Hemert, they will join in providing services to about 60,000 students, staff, and faculty.

Kerezsi brings over two decades of higher education experience, including work as the Senior Associate Director of the Academic Advising Center at the University of Iowa and Transferology and Acadeum Coordinator at Augustana College. They graduated from Tulane University and earned an MA from the University of Iowa. Kerezsi has also served as a small claims court mediator in Johnson County, Iowa. (UC Ombuds.)

Organizational Ombuds serve as a confidential, independent, neutral and informal dispute resolution resource for a specific entity. They are accessible to a defined population and can advocate for fairness. These unique characteristics distinguish Organizational Ombuds from Classical Ombuds, mediators, arbitrators, and other alternative dispute resolution professionals.
