Seminar to Explain Role of German Scientific Ombuds
The Max Planck Institute of Animal Behavior is hosting a seminar titled "Ombudspersons in Science – Structures in Germany, Duties of an Ombudsperson" on April 29, 2025. Wolfgang Fiedler and Michael Mende, the institute's recently-elected Ombudspersons, will provide an overview of the Ombuds system in Germany, emphasizing the role and responsibilities of Ombuds in upholding research integrity and mediating conflicts. The program will offer insights into the ethical guidelines and procedures that ensure fair and transparent conflict resolution, as well as access resources on mediation and research integrity.
