Job Posting: University of California Davis

The UC Davis Ombuds Office is hiring an Associate Ombuds based at UC Davis Health in Sacramento with some hybrid, from-home possibilities. The position reports to Director, Lauren Bloom, CO-OP, and joins Lindsey Ensor, Senior Associate Ombuds, CO-OP, Jenny Vaccari, Associate Ombuds, CO-OP, and Katie Ranney, Assistant Ombuds. 

Applicants must have a relevant Bachelor’s degree and at least one year of experience. Preferred qualifications include IOA's Foundations course, an advanced degree, and two years of conflict management and administrative experience. The full salary range is $99,400 to $196,400 per year and applications are due by April 13, 2025. (UC Davis Careers via Indeed.)

This is a phenomenal team. Super supportive people and excellent ombuds. As someone who was a part of it for almost six years, I couldn't recommend this role and this team more highly!

Organizational Ombuds

Organizational Ombuds serve as a confidential, independent, neutral and informal dispute resolution resource for a specific entity. They are accessible to a defined population and can advocate for fairness. These unique characteristics distinguish Organizational Ombuds from Classical Ombuds, mediators, arbitrators, and other alternative dispute resolution professionals. The term "Ombuds" is shorthand for "Ombudsman," "Ombudsperson" and "Ombuds Officer," which also are used widely.
