IOA Webinar: Basics for Ombuds Contracting

A webinar presented by the International Ombuds Association on August 14, 2025, will offer guidance for contractual Ombuds work. The session will be lead by Alicia Booker Cormier, the Principal Ombuds for Baylor College of Medicine and former President of the IOA Board of Directors. The program, "Ombuds Contract Work: Scoping the Work from Intake to Impact," is aimed at practicing Ombuds and other professionals considering a transition.

Are you a practicing Ombuds—or in transition and ready to step into contract work? Whether you're pivoting into consulting or expanding your current practice, this engaging and practical seminar will give you the tools to scope, price, and present your services with clarity and confidence. In “Ombuds Contract Work: Scoping the Work from Intake to Impact,” you’ll work from a detailed, real-world example of Ombuds contract work and learn how to break it into clear, billable phases. From document review and tech collaboration to intake design, branding, and visitor consultations, you’ll gain a blueprint for building and communicating a professional scope of services. 
The webinar is offered at $50 for IOA members and $250 for nonmembers and payment is due by August 7, 2025. (IOA Seminar Info.)
