Macon & Joan Brock Virginia Health Sciences at Old Dominion University is seeking a Senior Training Consultant/Associate Ombudsperson within its Human Resources Organizational Development and Training unit. The full-time role focuses primarily on leadership and workforce development training for faculty and staff while also serving as the Talent Management and Culture Associate Ombudsperson. (It is not clear whether the position reports to Linda R. Archer, the GME Ombudsperson for Virginia Health Sciences.)

Minimum qualifications include a relevant Master’s degree (or a Bachelor’s degree with equivalent experience) and substantial experience designing and delivering training programs and facilitating leadership development initiatives. Experience conducting needs assessments, evaluating training effectiveness, and using learning management systems is also required. Preferred qualifications include experience in higher education or workforce development settings and professional certifications in talent development, HR, organizational development, or coaching. Organizational Ombuds

Organizational Ombuds serve as a confidential, independent, neutral and informal dispute resolution resource for a specific entity. They are accessible to a defined population and can advocate for fairness. These unique characteristics distinguish Organizational Ombuds from Classical Ombuds, mediators, arbitrators, and other alternative dispute resolution professionals.
