Melanie Chapman has been named as the new Ombudsperson for the large public university in Ottawa, Ontario. She comes to the position after 14 years in the Office of the Ombudsman for the Department of National Defence and Canadian Armed Forces. Previously, she had worked in conflict resolution at the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. She starts on May 19, 2020 and succeeds Jim Kennelly, who retired earlier this year after over four decades in the position.
Chapman is a double alumnus of Carleton, including a Graduate Certificate in Conflict Resolution and Mediation. (Carleton News; LinkedIn.)
