Jim Kennelly, who has served as the Ombudsperson at the public university in Ottawa, Ontario for 42 years, will retire in the next few weeks. Carleton will host a reception on March 5, 2020 to honor Kennelly, who has worked at the university since he graduated in 1975.
After earning a BS in Sociology, Kennelly worked as a Co-ordinator of Student Services for three years what was known at the time as St. Patrick’s College. He then became the university’s first Ombudsperson in 1978, a role that Kennelly expanded into an office team that now serves Carleton’s more than 31,000 students. A search is underway for his successor. (Carleton Events.)
