The Office of the Ombudsman for United Nations Funds and Programmes is increasing the size of its Global Mediation Panel, which currently has 35 panelists. Giuseppe De Palo is the UNFP Ombudsman and the mediation panel is overseen by an International Advisory Board. Applications are being accepted for on-call external mediators for a two-year appointment, starting June 1, 2020.
Candidates must be highly experienced mediators with a degree in law, conflict management or other relevant social sciences. Other preferred qualifications include: a master's degree in ADR, formal training in conflict resolution, at least five years of mediation experience, and fluency English and another language. The Office is currently seeking applicants who have permanent residence or significant presence in countries in Africa, Asia and the Pacific, Europe, Latin America, and the Middle East.
