McGill University Selects Next Ombuds

Last week, Patricia Faison Hewlin began a five-year mandate as the Ombudsperson for Students. In the half-time appointment, she will head a office that serves over 40,000 students and handles about 200 cases a year. She succeeds Dimitrios Berk and joins Carmela Parzanese, the Assistant to the Ombudsperson. 


Hewlin joined McGill University in 2010 and is an Associate Professor of Organizational Behaviour. her focuses "on how organization members and leaders engage in authentic expression, as well as factors that impede authenticity in every day work interactions." Before McGill, she was on the faculty at Georgetown University. She graduated from Binghamton University, and earned an MBA and PhD at New York University. (McGill Ombuds; Faculty Profile.)
