James Madison University Names Next Faculty Ombuds

On July 1, 2021, David McGraw will become the next Faculty Ombudsperson for the public research university in Harrisonburg, Virginia. He follows Chris Blake in the position. The JMU Faculty Ombuds serves about 1,400 academic staff practicing to IOA standards. The university also has a Student Ombuds office. 

McGraw joined the faculty at JMU in 2001 after a career as an attorney in Washington, D.C. Currently a professor in the School of Integrated Sciences, he also serves as associate school director. He has held a series positions with the faculty senate. McGraw graduated from Toccoa Falls College, and earned an MSIS at University of Pittsburgh, an MAS at Southeastern Oklahoma State University, and a JD at Georgetown University.
