Job Postings: UN World Food Programme

The food assistance branch of the United Nations is hiring two full-time Ombuds: a Regional Ombuds Officer and a Senior Ombuds Officer & Mediator. Both are part of the UN Office of the Ombudsman and Mediation Services. The Regional Ombuds Officer will be located in WFP’s Regional Bureau Nairobi, Kenya, and travel extensively through East and South Africa. The Senior Ombuds Officer is based in Rome and reports to the Ombudsman and Director, Gabrielle Kluck.

For the Regional Ombuds Officer position, applicants must have: an advanced University degree in dispute resolution or conflict management, or other relevant field (or the equivalent); at least eight professional experience, including at least three years in an international setting; and fluency in English language and intermediate knowledge of a second UN language, especially French or Portuguese. For the Senior Ombuds Officer & Mediator position, applicants must have: an advanced University degree in dispute resolution or conflict management, or other relevant field (or the equivalent); at least eleven professional experience, including at least four years in an international humanitarian or development context; experience leading a multicultural team; and fluency in English language and intermediate knowledge of a second UN language, especially French or Portuguese.
