Charles University in Prague Introduces Ombuds

In January 2023, Kateřina Šámalová, became the first University Ombudswoman for Univerzita Karlova, the oldest and largest university in the Czech Republic. She will serve a three-year term and joins Charles University’s Ombuds for the Faculty of Arts, Pavla Špondrová, who was appointed in March 2022. 

Samalova co-hosted the European Network of Ombuds in Higher Education conference at Charles University earlier this month. She told ENOHE's President, Josef Leidenfrost, that she plans to grow Ombuds capacity at Charles University and the Czech Republic. Samalova is a member of social work faculty School of Economics.
