In his report, he also offers some insight on his work at UT and the status of Ombuds at other Dutch universities:
[T]he post of Ombuds Officer seems to have become a highly valued fixture at UT. There is nothing obvious about that, because at several other universities the institution is still in its infancy or Ombuds Officers have had to depart due to conflicts with their Executive Boards. This indicates just how difficult it can be to openly address issues touching the lack of social safety within a university community.
