Cascadia College Launches Ombuds Pilot

The public community college in Bothell, Washington, has launched a pilot Ombuds program for faculty and students. Ana Nina, Director of Inclusion, Advocacy, and Community Programs for the past three years, has adding the Ombuds role to her existing position. The college describes the Ombuds as an impartial, informal, independent, and confidential resource for addressing conflicts and identifying systemic issues. The pilot is intended to run through the 2026–27 academic year, after which the college will evaluate the program and make adjustments as necessary. 

Nina holds a JD from Seattle University School of Law, an LLM in International Environmental Law from Harvard Law School, and a doctorate from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro. She is also a trained mediator. (Cascadia President Letter, Ombuds; LinkedIn.)
