Cal Poly Humboldt Names New Ombuds

Jayne McGuire has joined the Ombuds Office at Cal Poly Humboldt, where she serves alongside University Ombudsperson John Meyer. McGuire succeeds Suzanne Pasztor, who served for three years in the role. The two Ombuds provide services to the entire campus, with a primary focus on student concerns.

McGuire is a professor and teaches recreation administration, adapted physical education, special education, and college faculty preparation. She previously worked as a special educator and therapeutic recreation specialist and served as an executive director of an accessible adventure organization. She graduated from Southern Illinois University and earned an MEd and PhD in from the University of Utah. (Humboldt Ombuds, Faculty Bio.)

Humboldt is now one of a few Cal State University campuses with a surviving Ombuds program.
