The UN agency that focuses on international public health has reopened its search for a Regional Ombudsman for the Pan American Health Organization. The 80% time position will be based in Washington, DC, for a two-year, renewable contract. Dolores Gómez-Morán has held the post for the past five years.
Applicants must have: a degree in a social science, human resources, psychology, or a related discipline; at least thirteen years of combined national and international professional work experience in the area of conflict management and resolution in the workplace, alternative dispute resolution, staff relations, or counseling; and very good knowledge of English or Spanish with working knowledge of the other language. Formal certified training in conflict resolution, arbitration, mediation and/or counseling, and knowledge of French and/or Portuguese are preferred. Applications are due September 15, 2018.
