Amanda Dean has been selected as the first Ombudsman for Staff and Faculty by the community college system. Austin Community College District had been searching for two candidates: internally for a faculty Ombuds and externally for a staff Ombuds. Dean will fill both roles and report to the Executive Vice President, Finance & Administration.
Previously, Dean was an Interim Assistant Ombuds for Students and Postdoctoral Appointees at UC Berkeley. Prior to becoming an Ombuds, she worked in the private and non-profit sectors providing career and leadership development, facilitation, and conflict resolution services. She graduated from Salem College and earned her MS in Conflict Resolution from Kennesaw State University. (LinkedIn.)
