Ryerson University Announces New Ombuds

On June 3, 2019, Kwame Addo was named the next Ombudsperson for the public research university in Toronto. He comes to the position after a decade as the Director of Investigations for the City of Toronto Ombudsman. He will now serve a student population of 24,000 students with Assistant Ombudspersons Ayesha Adam and Gemma Kerr.

Addo served briefly as the interim Ombudsman for the City of Toronto. He also spent nearly two decades in the Ontario Ombudsman office as an investigator. For the past few years, he has been an organizer and instructor for the Ombuds Certificate Program offered by the Forum of Canadian Ombudsman and Osgoode Hall at York University. Addo graduated from the University of Guelph and earned an HR certificate at the University of Toronto.(Ryerson News; LinkedIn.)
